Keep reading for more information! Listed below are some helpful tips to get you started. Also check out our articles on Nomination process, Characters, and Restaurants. There’s something for everyone! You can even nominate yourself!

Locations
The Hollywood Walk of Fame has many different categories. Most of the stars are from television and motion pictures, though nearly 42% are not. Other categories include recording artists, radio personalities, and live performers. Johnny Grant, the honorary mayor of Hollywood who revitalized the Walk of Fame, added special stars for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Victoria’s Secret Angels, and Disneyland. A star commemorating each of these icons is presented at a ceremony in September each year.

Nomination process
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honorific for famous people and is located on the west side of Sunset Boulevard. Nominees may be any active Hollywood personality. The Walk of Fame committee selects between twenty and thirty new names each year. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce selects these stars based on a series of criteria. Nominees must be current members of the entertainment industry and be living. The walk honors individuals and groups from the worlds of radio and television, stage, and other showbiz industries.

Characters
There are more than two thousand five-pointed brass and terrazzo stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the Walk, which is made up of these stars. Currently, 15 fictional characters have earned stars. In honor of their popularity, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce started the tradition by honoring Mickey Mouse. Since then, there have been more than a hundred stars placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, including the iconic character.

Restaurants
One of the first restaurants you might visit when visiting Hollywood is the legendary Rao’s. This restaurant, which has been around since 1919, has changed little since its opening day, though it was closed for the pandemic. It serves American and continental favorites, and is the location of the legendary Harlem restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant will soon have to relocate due to a planned redevelopment of the block.

Fast-food options
If you’re visiting Hollywood for the first time, there are many fast-food options along the walk. In-N-Out Burger is located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and offers classic burgers, double cheeseburgers, and more. If you’re hungry, try the flija burger and ice cream or the mille-feuille. While you’re there, be sure to sample their delicious wine. There are also milkshakes, rose lemonade, and other drinks for a memorable meal. See our next post.
