Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum

Founded in 1956, the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum is a great way to learn about the history of railroads and learn about the technology that drives them. Visitors can watch live steam, electric, and gas-mechanical trains run by operating seven-and-a-half-inch gauge model trains. Train rides are available every day. The Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum is a non-profit public benefit corporation founded by train enthusiasts in 1956. Its goal is to promote scale model railroad technology and train avocation. The museum has extensive layouts for 4 3/4″ and 3 1/2″ scale model trains. The LALS is open for rides on the first and third Sundays of each month. There are no rides on the first Sun of October or before Memorial Day. For a day full of fun and education, head to the Walt Disney exhibits at the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum. It is home to many historic locomotives and engines from the Walt Disney Company’s past. Several exhibits feature relics from Walt’s days as a kid, including items built by Walt himself.
